Church Point (NS), September 17, 2020 - The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) announced yesterday the National Scholar Award recipients for the 2019-20 season.
The CCAA National Scholar Award recognizes the outstanding academic accomplishments of student-athletes. To be recognized, a student-athlete must achieve honours standing at their institution in the current academic year.
Université Sainte-Anne would like to congratulate Laurène Comeau and Trevor Melanson on this outstanding accomplishment!
From Meteghan, NS, Laurène Comeau is enrolled in her third year of our Bachelor of Sciences program. As a middle player with the Dragons women's volleyball team, she “loves to represent the Dragons and Université Sainte-Anne in competition”. She made the President's list in 2020.
From La Butte, NS, Trevor Melanson is also enrolled in our Bachelor of Sciences program. He received the Université Sainte-Anne Rookie of the Year Award in 2018 and made the President's list in 2020. Trevor adds that “there are many advantages to studying in French and playing university sport. Sports increase your leadership qualities and your ability to work as a team. These qualities are of great value in all aspects of life, whether it be during an interview for medical school or in everyday activities”. He is a member of the men's Dragons volleyball team.
Congratulations to all the recipients of the 2019-20 CCAA National Scholar Award!
