Church Point (NS), March 3, 2025- Students interested in the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program at Université Sainte-Anne now have the option of enrolling in an accelerated 16-month option starting in September 2025.

This delivery option will condense the regular 2-year B.Ed. program into 16 months, while meeting accreditation requirements and preserving the quality of the student's learning experience. Being able to complete their programming faster means that graduates will be in the classroom putting their learning into practice as early as September 2026.

Across Canada, including in Nova Scotia, there is an urgent need to recruit, train and retain teachers for French-language minority schools and French-as-a-second-language programs. As the only university in Nova Scotia to offer programs in the teaching of French as a first language, and to award the Specialist Diploma in the Teaching of French as a Second Language, Université Sainte-Anne is keen to respond to this shortage.

“We are delighted to be able to train teachers more quickly, while ensuring that we continue to develop the best teachers of French as a first and second language in Nova Scotia,” explains Kenneth Deveau, President of Université Sainte-Anne.

We will continue to offer our Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs integrated with the B.Ed. and the 2-year B.Ed.
