This program offers students the opportunity to acquire historical knowledge on the past of Western civilization; it focuses mostly on France, Great-Britain, Canada, and the Acadian communities of the Maritimes.

It also includes, for a greater awareness of the nature of history, a methodology and philosophy component with studies in historiography.

Graduates of this program will be able to read historical and other works with great discernment. They will also be able to express their ideas coherently and convincingly in writing.
