This certificate meets the needs of students who want to learn English as a second or foreign language.

It is a part-time program, so students can take it while also pursuing a degree at Université Sainte-Anne, such as the Bachelor of Business Administration.

There are three course levels: novice, intermediate, and advanced. The certificate is awarded on successful completion of 12 credits at the advanced level. Students who complete the advanced level will be able to continue their university studies in English (ANGL 2000 level). Steps will be taken to link this course with the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and to offer the TOEFL here at Université Sainte-Anne.

Students of English as a second or foreign language must take the placement test to determine their level of English and the course level they need to sign up for. Being in the correct level will facilitate their learning and progress towards the English as a second language certificate.

This certificate is offered only at the Church Point campus and is worth 12 credits.
