The LISI is a non-profit laboratory dedicated to research, development, and innovation (RD&I). We are equipped with research facilities in biology as well as a greenhouse complex.
Mandate
History
Université Sainte-Anne established the LISI in Saulnierville in 2014. The project was jointly funded by Sainte-Anne and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), with a generous contribution from Comeau Seafoods.
In 2025, the LISI was relocated to the Church Point campus, near the Lobster Quality Laboratory. This move made it possible to achieve economies of scale through shared infrastructure and equipment, while also fostering greater synergy among researchers and students.
Activities
Since its creation, the LISI has supported approximately twenty research projects in the sectors of aquaculture, fisheries, agriculture and agri-food. The LISI will continue to support local companies in order to increase their innovation capacity in these sectors.
