Revise or Appeal a Final Grade
Université Sainte-Anne does not offer the possibility of retaking a final exam for a university course. Once a professor has submitted the grades for a course, they are considered final. However, if a student has good reason for believing that the final grade they have received is incorrect, there is an appeal procedure.
Step 1: Discussion with Professor
The student must first contact the course professor to discuss the grade. If the professor
agrees that the grade is inaccurate, the professor must fill out a form for a grade change.
Step 2: Request for Re-assessment of a Final Grade
If the professor does not agree that the grade is inaccurate, but the student still wishes to
have it re-assessed, the student must, at that point, make a formal request in writing to the
Université Sainte-Anne Registrar and pay the $20.00 requisite fee. The request must
specifically identify what is to be re-assessed, and offer reasonable justification.
The following deadlines apply:
- Fall term grades must be appealed by February 3rd, 2027.
- Winter term grades must be appealed by June 4th, 2027.
The Registrar forwards requests for grade re-assessment to the Dean of the student’s
program. The re-assessment is carried out by the revision committee, composed of the
department director and two professors.
The revision committee will notify the student of the outcome of the re-assessment. If
applicable, the new grade will replace the original.
