Church Point (NS), February 10, 2026 – Université Sainte-Anne and the Municipality of Clare are proud to announce the signing of a Collaboration Agreement – University Municipality Project. This agreement aims to structure and strengthen the excellent cooperation between the two parties, united by shared values, exceptional proximity, and the common desire to make Clare a great place to learn, work, play, and live.

Deeply rooted in the region, Université Sainte-Anne plays a key role in mobilizing knowledge and contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of Clare. The agreement will reinforce this natural connection by establishing clear principles—commitment, trust, respect, collaboration, and collegiality—that will guide initiatives over the next five years.

At the heart of this agreement is the University Municipality project which aims to create, on the one hand, an environment where the University, its students, and its staff fully integrate into and contribute to the social, economic, cultural, and athletic life of Clare, and, on the other hand, a context in which the resources and facilities of both parties are strategically deployed for the benefit of the entire community.

To support this goal, a joint working group will be set up to identify priorities, coordinate joint projects, and ensure fluid communication.

The objectives of the collaboration include:

  • Increased participation of the university community in local life;
  • Joint development of academic, cultural, and sporting events;
  • Planning of shared infrastructure and spaces;
  • Mobilization of research;
  • Creation of a shared brand.

Building on years of collaboration and numerous successful joint projects, Université Sainte-Anne and the Municipality of Clare see this agreement as an opportunity to expand their collective impact, accelerate new collaborations, and further strengthen a dynamic, inclusive, and resilient community.

“This agreement reflects our shared desire to create a unified living environment, where the university community and the local population evolve together and participate fully in community life. We’re excited to strengthen our partnership with Université Sainte-Anne and grow our collective contributions to the community.”

- Yvon LeBlanc, Warden of the Municipality of Clare.

“Université Sainte-Anne is proud to formalize its partnership with the Municipality of Clare on this innovative project. This partnership highlights our commitment to strengthening ties between the university and the municipality and represents a real benefit for the social and economic development of our community.”

- Kenneth Deveau, President and Vice-Chancellor.
