Chuch Point, NS, October 5th, 2017 - Do you have children younger than 5? Do you live in Digby or Yarmouth counties?

We would like to invite you to participate in a research study by Professor Caroline Fitzpatrick on the usage of different types of media devices (smartphones, tablets, television) and child development.

What does this study involve?

  • Completing a questionnaire about your family context, media habits, and attitudes towards media.
  • Answering questions about your level of parenting stress and your child's vocabulary.
  • Providing details on your family's media usage and other routine activities on a typical day.

You will be compensated for your participation.  All queries will be confidential.

About Caroline Fitzpatrick

Caroline Fitzpatrick is an assistant professor at Université Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia where she teaches psychology and statistics. She is also an affiliate researcher at Concordia University's PERFORM Center and an appointed research fellow at the University of Johannesburg, in the department of childhood education. Her work addresses the childhood origins of education and health inequities. The goal of her research is to inform social policies and public health initiatives aimed at improving child physical and mental health.
