Church Point (N.S.), November 14, 2017 – Université Sainte-Anne is pleased to announce that the job placement rate for graduates of its Bachelor of Education program is nearly 100%. Year after year, school boards across Canada actively seek out our graduates and we are convinced that they will continue their recruitment efforts.

In fact, we are so certain of this that we offer an employment guarantee to new students who enroll full-time in the Bachelor of Education program (B.Ed. or B.A./B.Ed. or B.Sc./B.Ed.). Should these students fail to obtain employment in their field before the start of the fall university term following the awarding of their diploma, they may return to Université Sainte-Anne to enroll free of charge[1] in a program whose level is equivalent to the one in which they had been enrolled.

In Nova Scotia, there are many reasons why job prospects are excellent for our teaching program graduates. The Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) school board is constantly seeking to fill French-First-Language teaching positions. Moreover, it is currently in search of new staff to increase the number of available supply teachers. For their part, anglophone school boards are confronted with a shortage of teachers in their French Immersion programs.

The situation that Nova Scotia school boards are experiencing also applies throughout the country. In fact, Université Sainte-Anne is regularly sought out by school boards in the other Canadian provinces to promote their job offers.

“We are convinced that teachers who have completed a French-Second-Language or French-First-Language program are exceedingly well-positioned to enter the labour market. The vast majority of our Education students have a privileged position on the labour market, and will quickly and easily land a job once they are awarded their diploma,” explains Hughie Batherson, Vice-President of Recruitment and Partnerships.

Furthermore, this employment guarantee is also extended to graduates of the Bachelor of Business Administration (Coop program). Within the highly competitive labour market, employers are particularly interested by the bilingualism of these graduates.

It is abundantly clear that having advanced language skills in both official languages confers a considerable advantage to all our graduates.
