Church Point (NS), May 27, 2026- Université Sainte-Anne is proud to announce the creation of the Donald J. Savoie Scholarship, a new philanthropic initiative aimed at recognizing academic excellence and fully supporting the potential of Acadian and francophone school graduates in the maritime provinces.
As part of this initiative, Donald J. Savoie has committed to making an additional philanthropic contribution of $100,000. This significant investment enhances the existing fund, which already totals $91,000, thereby increasing the scope and sustainability of the Donald J. Savoie Scholarship for the benefit of students.
This scholarship is made possible through the exceptional support of Donald J. Savoie, a long-time donor and a prominent figure in the academic community. His ongoing commitment to education, academic success, and the future of younger generations reflects a deep and enduring relationship with Université Sainte-Anne. In recognition of his outstanding contribution and leadership, the University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 1993.

Awarded annually to a student enrolled in their first undergraduate program, the Donald J. Savoie Scholarship recognizes the dedication and commitment demonstrated throughout the student’s academic journey. Through this support, Donald J. Savoie aims both to ease the financial burden associated with higher education and to inspire the next generation to see themselves as agents of change in society.
